    Rodrigo Borges  February 17 2009 09:20:00 PM
A colleague of IBM Brazil made a cool animation where we have MS Outlook and Lotus Notes speaking about some features and price. This animation is in Brazilian Portuguese. But I've already asked him to translate to English.

    Every weekend, same history...

    Rodrigo Borges  February 14 2009 04:58:09 AM
Most of you already know that since last Nov 15th I became a happy married man. My wife, Leda, is a wonderful woman who I can't imagine leaving without. She makes me happy, strong, and all others good feeling that a person can have.

We met each other on 2006 and since then I have no doubt that she is the one I want beside me for all my life.

But let's focus on this post. When I began to go to her house, I always heard her parents calling her by a nickname not so used over here: Ursa (Bear in English).... WTF?????? I could not image why in that time....

But now I know... I'll try to explain showing a picture of my weeding:
    Image:Every weekend, same history...

And now, can you imagine why? Well, every single weekend you can make sure that we are like the picture above. My bear loves stay on the bed and sleep until 12PM and I always wake up by 7:30AM. As I don't like to leave her alone, I get my TP and start to navigate or post on my blog (btw, she's beside me right now and..... SLEEPING)....

    The Origin of Species

    Rodrigo Borges  February 9 2009 04:48:14 PM
This week the world is celebrating the 200th birthday of Charles Darwin, the man who changed how our children learn about the creation of the world as well as the evolution of the species. Before Darwin, all we knew was that the world began with Adam and Eve, their sons, sons' son until nowadays. On 1959, he published "On the Origin of Species", a revolutionary study about the species, where we come from and to where we will go.

Since then the world is split on two:
    • Darwinism: those who believe that we came from a long process of evolution, not from Adam and Eve. Most of the people who follow this idea is scientist and biologist.
    • Creationism: those who still believe that God created the world, mad Adam and Eve and that we are sons of them.

Today I was reading a magazine here in Brazil about Charles Darwin and one thing that came up to my attention was how the schools around the world handle this topic to the students. All science books have changed to teach the students the Darwin's theory. But lots of schools are insisting on on keep the creationism on their program. Most of these schools are connected to religions and they simply don't accept the Darwinism.

I would like to hear from you your thoughts about this subject. Do you agree that the schools have to keep teaching science based on creationism instead of Darwinism? Maybe a mix between both?

    Testing Windows 7 Beta

    Rodrigo Borges  February 7 2009 08:57:01 PM
Today I started to play with Windows 7 Beta. I have it running on a VM on my TP 61.

    First impressions:
    • faster than Vista. It took about 50 min to install.
    • I like the new icons on the doc (as usual, Microsoft copying the best of others OS - Mac OS).

Now I'll try to install some IBM applications to check the compatibility. I'll post some results later.

    Welcome to my blog
